Hi! I'm from Seattle, Washington and I am a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in computer science. I have experience as a full stack developer at Powerex and STN Video, utilizing various tech stacks such as JavaScript, .NET, and SQL, to name a few. I value teamwork, open communication, and continous learning.
Growing up, I was always a fan of logic puzzles and complex riddles. In high school, I took my first computer science course and fell in love with programming. During my undergraduate, I have taken various algorithm courses, advanced relational databases, visualization, and more that have helped further my knowledge of computer science, deepending my understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical applications.
Outside of work, I enjoy climbing, hiking, camping, and just being outside in nature. I'm always down to try new things; recently I've picked up crocheting! I like to cook and bake, bringing my friends together over a good meal. My current board game obsessions are Ticket to Ride, Wingspan, and Catan.
I'm passionate about the environment and love going out to explore and forage! I've volunteered at a couple of organizations to help remove invasive species from our parks, and I am a hobby mycologist. I hope to use my skills and education to positively our environment and communities.
Decode the Melody is an exploratory data analysis visualization project centered on music traits and popularity, across various platforms and years. From the casual listener to the aspiring music producer, music shapes the cadences of daily life, defining moods and moments through rhythm, lyrics, and melody. Due to its immense global influence, there is a natural curiosity about musical patterns indicated by the growth of movements like Spotify Wrapped, or data-driven music applications like Receiptify. To address this growing curiosity, our visualization will allow users to explore the chemistry behind top songs across various platforms, helping anyone gain a comprehensive view of the current musical landscape.
